Physical therapists prefer doing their work frontally with their patients (Face to face), although the hospital and rehabilitation facilities not always supply the budget from the insurance companies to cover that type of care it was necessary to make physical therapy more efficient for both physical-therapist and patients. This app collecting enormous types (personas) and varied type of use cases due the fact that there is many type of rehabilitation approaches and many type of user that need to be rehabilitated using by this service

project overview;

This the service app where physical therapist can control and supervise their patients. The patients are passing through a journey from the beginning of the reference for the physical therapy and until the full recovery. Physical therapists can assess patients online and then design a recovery process by conducting exercises and following the patient’s needs.
 This is a new innovative app that I had to plan and design the challenge was very complex and interesting, there was no any direct references back then when I designed that app so I had to conduct and execute my own research and after that analyze outcome so I could start assembling epics and user stories. create something brand new and friendly for use.

impact & achievments;

patient journey design;

step 1: Assessment

After being referred by an orthopedist, The patient’s journey begins with an assessment, typically longer than regular treatments. The physical therapist gathers key details about the patient’s lifestyle, work habits, rehabilitation goals, and pain levels, while identifying limitations and potential risks affecting daily activities (ADLs).

Previously, this relied on generic questionnaires, often leading to inefficiencies with repetitive or irrelevant questions. Videotherapy simplifies this by using a smart assessment wizard that tailors questions to the patient’s condition. For instance, a patient with an arm injury won’t be asked about walking or stairs, making the process faster and more focused.

step 2: First meeting with the patient

After completing the assessment, the physical therapist schedules an online consultation with the patient through Videotherapy. Using a camera-based diagnostic system, the therapist ensures the treatment is optimized for maximum recovery in minimal time.

step 3: Crating a rehabilitation program

Creating a personalized rehabilitation program is a key step in Videotherapy, designed to ensure that each patient’s unique needs and goals are addressed effectively. The platform’s AI analyzes patient data, taking into account factors such as their condition, daily routine, and treatment goals,

to suggest the most effective and scientifically validated exercises. This allows the physical therapist to efficiently build a customized program with just a few clicks, streamlining the process while maintaining a high level of precision and care.

The AI also considers the patient’s daily routine and device type. For example, if the patient uses a TV or computer,

It may recommend aids like a mat or Pilates ball. For mobile devices, it suggests exercises suited for limited spaces, such as a bus or office. The app optimizes the sequence of exercises—from standing to sitting and lying down—to minimize unnecessary transitions and prevent discomfort.

step 4: Personalized Training Support

Videotherapy includes a personal training feature where the physical therapist actively supports the patient during their sessions. The therapist can send encouraging messages, provide additional instructions, or even appear on camera to guide the patient, ensuring proper technique and motivation throughout the training.

step 5: Followup and Monitoring

Videotherapy aims to shift rehabilitation programs fully online, enabling physical therapists to focus on guidance and progress monitoring. This allows therapists to manage multiple patients at once, beyond the limits of one-on-one sessions. Periodic evaluations ensure patients receive effective, safe, and satisfactory care throughout their recovery.
